However, existing technology platforms are only applicable to a limited part of the pharma portfolio and do not fully unlock all benefits linked to LA. LongActNow ESR4 is a Marie Curie-Sklodowska International Training Network that will develop a membrane-based antisolvent crystallization process, which will remove any unwanted solvents from the final long acting suspension. Crystal formation and solvent switch is intended to be integrated in one apparatus via diafiltration. These investigations includes the selection of an appropriate membrane, the process design and operational aspects.

Call for PhD studentships/Early Stage Researchers (ESR PROJECT 4 ONLY)

LongActNow invites applications from qualified candidates for a PhD studentship with strong background in chemical engineering, particularly in fluid separations and thermodynamics. Successful candidates will benefit from the synergies leveraged across LongActNow’s three prominent international academic and industrial centres (University of Limerick, Technische Universität Dortmund and Janssen Pharmaceutica). As mobility is key to Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, successful candidates will spend time in the different institutions listed including 18 months spent at Janssen Pharmaceutica in Belgium. Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (e.g. work, studies) in Germany for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline.

How to apply?

Full details of the ESR4 project, supervisors, eligibility criteria and the application process are available at www.longactnow.eu from 18 May 2020. Informal queries can be sent to

Sarah.Hudson@ul.ie or gabriele.sadowski@tu-dortmund.de

Deadline for applications is 15 June 2020, 5pm (Irish Standard Time).

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 861278

European Industrial Doctorate Programme LongActNow – Long Acting Medicines for Complex Therapeutics Needed Now **** MAY 2020 Call for PhD Applicants **** Background Long acting (LA) formulations have become a game-changer in terms of bringing existing and new active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in more cost-efficient and comfortable ways to patients, often directly impacting commercial […]

[1
